Tae Kwon Do
Originating over 2,000 years ago, Tae Kwon Do is a
form of Korean martial art, consisting of skillful foot and hand
combinations used in self-defense. Literally translated, Tae Kwon Do
means "foot hand way." Through precise education, consistent
practice and dedication of spirit, students can elevate through the
ranks of belts, gaining strength, agility, health and
confidence.
Tae Kwon Do provides its students with a number of physical,
mental and emotional benefits. From your first lessons, you will
notice their effects on your life - both in and out of the
classroom.
Mental Aspects
Other than physical aspects of Tae Kwon Do, there are also many
other mental aspects stressed just as much or in some cases more
than the physical aspects. When people usually think of Tae Kwon Do,
and the other martial arts, they think only of the physical
fighting, but in Tae Kwon Do, the mental aspects are just as
important. We promote these aspects and stress their importance to
the children in attempt to help the children develop into
well-rounded Adults.
